Every client has a birthday. Almost no business uses it. That is strange, because a birthday message with a real gift attached is the easiest sale of the year.
Why birthdays convert
Birthday spending is planned spending. People book the haircut before the party, the facial before the dinner, the massage as a gift to themselves. They are already going to spend that week. The only question is where.
A message that says “happy birthday, you have 500 points waiting” answers that question. It is personal, it has real value attached, and it lands exactly when the client is deciding.
What a good birthday flow looks like
- Reminders before the day. A heads-up at 30 days, 7 days, and 1 day: “your birthday points are coming.” This builds the visit into their plans.
- Points on the day, automatically. The bonus lands in their account the morning of their birthday, with a branded message by email and text. Nobody on your team has to remember anything.
- Easy redemption. They show their QR at the desk and the points come off the bill. No codes, no fine print.
Set it and check the numbers later
You choose the bonus once. For most service businesses 300 to 500 points (30 to 50 dollars of value) is the sweet spot: big enough to move a visit, small enough that the visit pays for it several times over.
If a birthday visit averages 120 dollars and your bonus costs you 40, every redeemed birthday is roughly 80 dollars of revenue you were not going to get, plus whatever the client adds on. Multiply by your client list.
loyhq runs the whole flow for you: reminders, the bonus, the branded messages, in English and Spanish per client. You set the number in Settings once and it runs every single day.
